At the Children's Learning Lab (COL) at Boğaziçi University Mathematics and Science Education, we conduct research on how children learn and how to improve their learning. Our research focuses on learning key concepts and problem-solving procedures in mathematics, with an emphasis on experiences that promote learning.
We owe everything we know about children's mathematics learning to the families and children who participate in scientific research in this field.
By participating in our research, you will have the opportunity to have a different and enjoyable experience with your child and learn about the latest developments in the field of math learning.
In our studies with children aged 4-6, we ask children to do some pattern activities on the computer and we use methods such as eye tracking and thinking aloud to understand the strategies used by children.
Typical visit time to our laboratory is 45-60 minutes on average.
